WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLE

The Supply Chain Director is responsible for implementing and continuously improving our Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) cadence and the sales, demand, supply, and capacity planning analytics, business processes and tools supporting our growing specialty coffee business.  The Supply Chain Director manages a team of sales, demand, and supply planners that conduct Point of Sale (POS) analytics to inform merchandise assortment plans and create sales, demand and supply plans that marry up with company and customer financial and service level objectives.  The Director liaises with our Shanghai-based Supply Chain Vice President and their teams to ensure demand and supply are synchronized. This role reports into our Seattle-based Senior Vice President of Supply Chain. 

 

The Supply Chain Director has superb communication and relationship-building skills and the highest level of integrity and intellectual honesty. He or she is gifted at inspiring confidence with internal and external customers, which requires an exceptional ability to simplify complex concepts and to bring clarity in the face of ambiguity.

This leader has broad strengths bridging from product and go-to-market business strategies to day-to-day planning. Infused throughout will be an innate customer intuition and focus that serves as the basis for all business decisions.

Finally, the Supply Chain Director models a bias toward action and commitment to results and solutions. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION

  • Implement, administer, and continuously improve our S&OP cadence for the customer’s Americas and EMEA businesses.
  • Build world-class POS analytics and sales and demand planning capabilities, ensuring our systems, tools and business processes achieve company and customer financial objectives
  • In partnership with Product Management, Account Management and Finance stakeholders, to create sales, demand, and supply plans that feed financial and capacity plans and inform sourcing strategies and negotiations. 
  • Develop, report, manage and improve planning-related key performance indicators, including WMAPE, forecast bias, sell-thru, SKU productivity, and inventory turns, weeks of supply, and obsolescence.
  • Nurture and inspire a team of direct reports, fostering camaraderie, inquisitiveness, a bias toward action, a commitment to results and solutions and professional development.
  • Provide supply chain leadership as an active member of the company’s specialty coffee business unit leadership team.
  • Liaise with customer supply chain and other functional leads, establishing relationships grounded in mutual trust, transparency and candor and ensuring company and customer work integrate.
  • Share and solicit best practices with/from other company divisions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, business or engineering recommended
  • 8 to 15 years’ experience in supply chain operations and planning leadership roles, including project management and business transformation
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience managing and developing teams of direct reports
  • A solid grasp of supply chain information technology applications and related planning processes and systems
  • Knowledge of the consumer products industry, including product go-to-market strategies, product launch and fulfillment; specialty coffee retail experience preferred

 

Interaction and Environment

  • The Supply Chain Director would visit the customer and the TMS offices in Seattle.
  • Hybrid workplace if located in Seattle
  • He or she will travel periodically to Asia.

Salary: $145k-$200k

The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience. tms is a total rewards company, which includes rewards beyond base salary.  At tms, full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus, based on company and individual results.  In addition, we offer a variety of employee benefits, personalized time off, holiday pay, dental, vision, 401(k), and much more.
